Wong-Trainor Welcome Centre

This 2,800-square-foot lobby includes lounge furniture, large marble desks that transform into bars, a gas fireplace, and a self-playing piano. We have a large interactive touch-screen wall where alumni can find themselves, guests can explore the history of UBC or, for a fee, you can take over and display your own media. The design of the space incorporates key elements of modern West Coast architecture, using cedar, stone, steel and natural light. The room is perfect for supporting large-scale events in the Jack Poole Hall for pre- or post-event cocktails, silent auctions or as a display area. It can also be rented on its own for any small to mid-size cocktail-style receptions.

Our Wong-Trainor Welcome Centre Lobby is available for evening rentals only. By day, it acts as the official University Welcome Centre — it’s the perfect place to start your exploration of the Vancouver campus.
